Instructions

Rinse lentils thoroughly under cold water.

Boil lentils in 4 cups of water with turmeric for 20 minutes until soft.

In a separate pan, heat oil over medium-high heat.

Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle 30 seconds.

Add diced onion and cook until golden, about 6 minutes.
